The "Festival Musica Sibrii", now in its seventh edition, proposes for the year 2018, as usual, a list of ancient music events, alternating performances by "I Solisti Ambrosiani", residency ensemble, with prestigious external groups.

 

Among the new collaborations of this edition, there is ensemble "I Musici del Gran Principe", directed by Samuele Lastrucci, with a program dedicated to French baroque, entitled "The office liturgique du Roi Soleil", May 26th  at the suggestive Church of S. Stefano in Bizzozero. 

 

Ensemble Terre d'Otranto, June 30th in Varese, in the Church "Madonna in prato", will presents a program of great refinement, with music by the composer Girolamo Melcarne, to which the group has dedicated a recent recording; furthermore the vocal ensemble La Cappella Altoliventina will play "La Bataille - echoes of war in a Renaissance Mass" (July 7th) at the Monastery of Torba, a very suggestive location, kindky granted by the FAI.

 

He also returned the precious collaboration with Ensemble L'Archicembalo (June 22nd in Busto Arsizio).

 

Two appointments by "I Solisti Ambrosiani": May 5th at Cislago, with a monographic program dedicated to the composer Antonio Caldara and, at the end of the Festival, in Legnano, with the performance of the famous "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi and baroque soprano arias.

 

Lastly, the collaboration with the vocal ensemble Musica Picta is renewed, present on June 24th in Castelseprio, within the event "Sibium Langobardorum", a historical re-enactment of its second edition, hosted in the Archaeological Park of Castelseprio, a UNESCO site.
